Elden Ring Runes, like many Souls games before it, may be at times a bit shady when is providing crucial information. Case in point that you may have noticed an unusual icon in the middle of your health stamina, magic, or health bars. It's an orange square that has a downward arrow. "Where do I get that originate?" you may be asking yourself, to which I respond, "Have you hugged any odd women recently?"
At the point where you've reached a certain amount in the early game of Elden Ring--it 100% occurs after you defeat the first big boss Margit The Fell Omen although some people have been reporting that it happens before as well--you'll be invited to The Roundtable Hold. This hub is home to many amenities, including blacksmiths and merchants who can improve your equipment than you could do on yourself, but the most interesting NPC an individual named Fia that is featured in the game's intense introduction as "the Deathbed Companion."
At first, it doesn't appear that Fia performs much. She's willing to hug youfor a moment, which is a rare instance of love that is not common in the Souls genre. She also presents an opportunity to receive Baldachin's Blessing the item that boosts your poise at the cost of some of the magical energy you have, before sending you back your route. The entire sequence, although touching, comes and goes without even a second thought. But , as it appears that there's a cost to pay to prove to Varre once and for all that you're not the same as he imagines.
Think back to your first experience when Fia would like to hug you. Remember the part about offering some of your "lifely energy" as well as "stout-hardedness" as a reward for an embrace? That wasn't just a flowery bit of dialogue on her part: Her hug literally decreases your maximum HP by an amount of 5%, as indicated by the mysterious red square icon that I talked about in the past. It may not seem as much but trust me when I say you'll wish you had the 5% back in the tail-end of a tough boss battle, no matter what the reward she grants you will be.
It is good news that regaining lost HP is as simple as applying the Baldachin's Blessing to your inventory.
Are Fia's health-threatening, pseudo-sexually transmitted disease a clue to the Deathbed Companion revealing something more dangerous in Elden Ring Runes for sale campaign? It's too early to tell that, but my ten years of Souls experiences have shown me that you shouldn't trust everyone you encounter in these games. I wouldn't think it's beyond FromSoftware to use something as sweet as giving free hugs at the end of the road to create a vile plot twist.
